Google Translate has been, for many years, one of the go-to tools for translating content into other languages.
OpenAI now wants to become an alternative to this tool, having launched the new “Translate with ChatGPT”.
OpenAI launches ChatGPT translation tool to compete with Google Translate
For many years, Google Translate was the go-to tool for users looking to translate text online.
However, with the rise of artificial intelligence and dedicated chatbots, the way people translate has changed completely, gradually replacing Google’s tool.
To formalise this alternative, OpenAI has now announced a new dedicated translation tool to simplify access, ChatGPT Translate.
This new tool is already available online here for free use by anyone. It currently supports translation across more than 40 languages, with automatic detection of the language of the text pasted by the user.
This tool is, however, designed for quicker translations — more complex translations or those requiring additional context should still be handled directly in a ChatGPT conversation to take full advantage of all the tool’s capabilities.
