Official renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra have arrived ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for 22 July in London.
The images show the device in the three colours that will be available globally — white, black, and dark purple, with the latter tipped as this year’s standout colour. A fourth option in green will be exclusive to Samsung’s official website.
The design remains virtually identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with the triple camera system aligned along the outer edge of the device and the straight-edged finish that Samsung has been using in the Ultra line.
This design continuity means the wobble issue from the Fold 7, caused by the camera placement, is likely to persist in the new model, and that MagSafe accessories will continue not to fit as securely as on other devices.
Expected specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy — the same chipset as the Galaxy S26 series launched earlier this year — with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the base configuration.
The battery finally receives an upgrade to 5000mAh, matching the Galaxy S26 Ultra but still falling short of some Chinese competitors. Charging also increases to 45W, an improvement over the previous generation.
On the camera system, the main setup is expected to remain the same, with a 200MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide, with possible aperture adjustments similar to those made on the Galaxy S26 Ultra to allow more light in.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be unveiled on 22 July in London alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, with pre-orders likely opening on the same day.
