Design and build quality
The Xiaomi Cordless Pressure Washer is a very simple piece of equipment that fully delivers on its function.
It is built entirely from rigid plastic, and the quality of the materials is immediately apparent to the touch. The design is minimalist and clean.
At the base there is a removable battery for charging, which also allows spare batteries to be swapped in to keep operation going continuously.
Just above that is the on/off button, and a little further up, the hose connector.
Just at the front there is a transparent area where detergent can be added for washing a car or wall. The cap for this compartment is on top.
Finally, at the tip there is the 5-in-1 spray head, where the mode is changed with a simple rotation of the nozzle.
Also included is a 6-metre hose with a self-priming system for use without a fixed water supply.
Setup and water source
Setting up the Xiaomi pressure washer is simple and practical. There are two approaches — connecting directly to a tap or using the self-priming system.
If you opt to connect to a tap, simply attach a hose that fits the adapter on the washer and turn on the water.
In this scenario the washer will always be releasing some water, as it cannot hold back all of the pressure. Pressing the trigger then intensifies the water output.
If no water source is available, you can use the self-priming hose included in the box. Simply place the hose into a bucket of water and the pressure washer is ready to go.
Washing experience
When we think of a portable pressure washer — especially one fed by a self-priming hose — we tend to expect low pressure. The Xiaomi pressure washer is considerably better than that expectation.
While it does not match the power of a conventional pressure washer like a Kärcher, the water output has enough force to wash walls, floors, and — most practically for us — the car.
Several jet types are available, from a dedicated foam mode through to a JET, 0°, and 20° and 40° fan patterns.
As expected, the highest pressure comes from the JET mode since it concentrates the stream into a single line, but the 20° fan proves to be the best overall option in terms of balance between pressure and cleaning coverage.
When washing a wall we managed to remove a good portion of the typical winter rain dirt, leaving it noticeably whiter, while car washing proved highly effective at removing the ingrained dirt that builds up on a vehicle.
The foam mode also works very well — simply fill the dedicated tank and fit the foam nozzle.
It is certainly not enough for deeper cleaning tasks with heavily ingrained dirt, but for everyday jobs it is more than adequate.
With the Xiaomi pressure washer you no longer need electricity or a water connection — you can use it anywhere as long as you have a container or tank to supply water from.

While it is not suited to very detailed or prolonged work, it is more than enough to wash a car or carry out lighter cleaning of outdoor spaces.

The foam works well as long as the tank is filled and the correct nozzle fitted, and switching between modes is quick and intuitive thanks to the rotation system at the tip.
