October was a month of foldables, health smartwatches, and getting the home ready for the cold, with twenty-one products tested by Techbit.
Joining them are an updated review, a comparison between two smartphones, and a six-month report on robotic lawn mowers.
This is the fifth edition of our monthly roundup, where we bring together every review published in the previous month.
The highest score of the month went to a small macOS app, Shoji, with 9.3 points, followed closely by the Reolink Home Hub Pro and the PETKIT EverSweet Ultra smart fountain, both on 9.1. As always, everything featured here comes from real-world testing carried out over weeks of use of the products.
Smartphones
It was a strong month for foldables. The Honor Magic V6 is the thinnest we have tested, at 8.75 mm when closed, with an anti-glare display that holds up in sunlight and Apple ecosystem integration — it runs a little warm under heavy workloads — earning 9.0 points at €1,419.

The OPPO Find N6 impressed with an almost invisible crease and careful construction, landing on 8.7 points — but OPPO does not sell it officially in Portugal, so it is only available via import, with a reference price of €1,869.

Outside the foldables, the Google Pixel 11 looks much like last year’s model, but the cameras and processing have improved noticeably, in a compact, lightweight body of 197 g. The lack of HiLight and a glossy back that picks up fingerprints were the only criticisms, earning it 8.9 points at €1,019.
For those torn between the two, we also published a comparison between the Pixel 11 and the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which starts at €1,429, explaining what the extra investment actually gets you.

Smartwatches
HUAWEI dominated the segment. The HUAWEI Watch D3 measures blood pressure at the wrist using a small air cuff integrated into the strap and allows 24-hour monitoring — the natural choice for those keeping tabs on hypertension. Battery life is around 6 days, and the Android app has to be installed outside the Play Store; it closed with 8.6 points at €449.

The HUAWEI Watch 6 Pro goes for premium construction and an 11-metric health assessment in 60 seconds, with eSIM and around 4 days of battery life, reaching 8.8 points at €629.

At the more affordable end, the DT G9 offers built-in GPS and health monitoring for just €49. Real-world battery life of 2 to 3 days fell well short of the 10 to 15 promised, and offline maps did not work, leaving it with 7.9 points — the lowest score of the month.

Sound
On the headphones front, the Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Generation) bring features previously reserved for Ultra models — such as spatial audio and lossless audio via USB-C — to a more accessible price point. Noise cancellation and comfort are excellent, with battery life and spatial audio falling slightly behind; they earned 8.8 points from €399.
For a much tighter budget, the Lenovo E310 covers the essentials for €29.99 — bass is almost non-existent and there is no app to adjust the sound — finishing on 8.1 points.

Laptops and software
The ASUS Zenbook 14 is ASUS’s answer to the MacBook Neo, weighing just 1.1 kg with an excellent keyboard and real-world battery life of 8 to 11 hours. The base model’s 8 GB of soldered RAM is its main limitation, closing with 8.8 points from €799.

Shoji is a macOS app that blurs the screen or a window with a simple keyboard shortcut, unlocking only with a password or Touch ID. The lifetime licence costs €12.50 and covers three computers — enough to earn it the 9.3 points that made it the highest-rated review of the month.

Televisions
The LG QNED evo AI QNED86 Mini LED 55-inch leans heavily into artificial intelligence and comes with a magic remote that doubles as an air mouse, along with very slim bezels. webOS remains somewhat cluttered and the screen is not anti-glare, landing it on 8.4 points at €609.

Smart home and security
We continued exploring the Reolink ecosystem. The Reolink Home Hub Pro centralises up to 12 cameras with encrypted local recording and no monthly fees, falling short only on automatic scene scheduling and smart search; it closed with 9.1 points at €349.99 including a 2 TB drive.
The Reolink Argus 4 Pro covers a 180-degree area with a single camera and comes with a solar panel, but the image cannot be flipped in the app, earning 8.6 points at €159.99.

For the home network, the Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE covered around 200 m² with just two nodes and lets guests connect via NFC — Android only. It earned 8.7 points, with the two-node pack priced at €93.47.

Home and winter comfort
With the cold arriving, we tested two heating solutions. The Xiaomi Fan Heater is a compact 2,000 W heater that warms a small room in minutes, with no app and no bathroom rating, earning 8.4 points at €46.72.

We also updated our review of the Xiaomi Smart Space Heater S, a silent convection heater with app support that continues to merit 8.7 points at €119.

For the desk, the MiaoLab Thermostatic Warming Cup keeps tea warm using an induction base. The drink stays at around 40 °C and the base has no battery, earning it 8.1 points.

Kitchen
The Philips Baristina is a bean-to-cup coffee machine designed for those who want the simplicity of capsules with freshly ground coffee. The process takes around 45 seconds and delivers consistent results every time, though there is no way to adjust the grind and the grounds have to be removed after each cup — it finished with 9.0 points at €299.99.

Pets
The PETKIT EverSweet Ultra is a water fountain that constantly replenishes fresh water rather than recirculating it, and includes a camera that recognises up to 15 animals and alerts you when one stops drinking. It is large and not particularly discreet, and costs €284 — but the core features require no subscription, earning it 9.1 points.

Cars
The BYD ATTO 2 DM-i is a compact plug-in hybrid SUV that impresses with its space and standard equipment at €33,990. The system never allows access to the last 25% of the battery, which reduced real-world electric range to around 78 km, and there is no fast charging — it landed on 8.6 points.

For those who want to understand what their car is telling them, the OBDeleven 3 connects to the OBD2 port and lets you diagnose and customise your car from your phone for €84.99. It excels with Volkswagen Group cars, but advanced features depend on credits and do not work on 2024 models with SFD2 protection — it reached 8.9 points.

Gadgets and travel
The AirBack Flex is a carry-on that converts between backpack and trolley, with hidden wheels and vacuum compression that fit over 15 items of clothing. The €199 price tag is the only downside, earning it 8.9 points.

Garden
To close, a long-term report. After months with a robotic lawn mower, we wrote about what changed in the garden with the Anthbot M9 Pro. The conclusion is that it saves around 90% of the work, but corners still need a manual pass, and scheduling the mowing hours and adding a cover make a real difference to longevity.

This was another full month of testing, and we continue working every week to bring honest reviews based on real-world use of each product. If you do not want to miss what is coming next, subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on social media.
