Coffee is one of the most Portuguese habits there is. It starts with the morning coffee upon waking, and can extend to a mid-morning coffee, one after lunch, at tea time, or for the more adventurous, after dinner.
While the market offers a wide range of machines — from capsule and pod to ground and whole bean — nothing compares to the pleasure of a freshly ground coffee.
And that is precisely what the INCAPTO Aura promises — a fully automatic coffee machine with an integrated grinder, suited equally to home use and a small office.
Here is our review and verdict on this machine.

INCAPTO Aura Review — How does this automatic coffee machine perform?
The INCAPTO Aura is a super-automatic coffee machine designed for anyone who wants a specialty coffee experience at home without the fuss.
With an integrated stainless steel grinder offering five grind levels, the process is straightforward: the beans go in, the coffee comes out. From tapping the panel to the cup, everything happens automatically — including on-demand grinding, pre-infusion, and cleaning of the brew group, which is removable for easier maintenance.

The compact, elegant design — available in black and white — was conceived to take a permanent place on the kitchen counter without imposing on the décor. The adjustable spout up to 160mm accommodates different cup heights, the dual spout allows two cups to be prepared simultaneously, and the 1.5-litre water tank avoids constant refilling.
In addition to the classic recipes of espresso, double espresso, lungo, and americano, you can save a custom recipe with your preferred volume and intensity to repeat whenever you like.
With 1470W of power and an Ultra Fast Thermoblock heating system, the first coffee is ready in just 40 seconds. We spent some time testing the INCAPTO Aura in daily use to see whether its promise of simplicity and consistent quality holds up in practice.
As for the price, the INCAPTO Aura can be purchased for €489 as a standalone machine, or for €349 with a subscription of 4 quarterly coffee orders, or €299 with 6 quarterly orders.
Design and build quality
The INCAPTO Aura is a minimalist, elegant machine that fits well into any setting, whether at home or in an office.
Available in black and white, it weighs around 9 kg and is built from good-quality ABS plastic.

At first glance this is a very clean machine, with no visible physical buttons, dominated by its central column with an aluminium finish where the two dispensing spouts are located.
This column is height-adjustable to accommodate different cup sizes.

On top of this column there is a white LED strip and, just above, the dispensing control buttons, which only illuminate when the machine is switched on. There is also a second row — equally invisible until lit — showing status indicators such as low water, empty grounds drawer, and so on.

On top of the machine there is the on/off button and the bean hopper. Inside this compartment there is also the grind adjuster with 5 different grind settings.

At the rear there is a 1.5-litre water tank.
On the right side there is a compartment providing access to the grinder for maintenance purposes.

At the base there is a cup tray which, when removed, reveals a handle for pulling out the grounds drawer.

This tray is held in place by a magnet that could stand to be a little stronger, as it detaches quite easily.

Also at the base, the cup area is lit by a warm yellow light that illuminates the dispensing zone and makes the coffee look more inviting. However, given that the upper section has a cool white LED — rather like a refrigerator light — there is a clash of colour temperatures that does not quite make aesthetic sense.

Coffee extraction and brew quality
Coffee extraction on the INCAPTO Aura follows the standard process for this type of automatic machine.
To begin, fill the 1.5-litre tank with water.

Next, add whole coffee beans to the top of the machine for the grinder to grind into powder.

In the bean hopper you will find the grind adjuster to select the grind level you want. For espresso, a finer grind is recommended — closer to level 1. For longer or more diluted coffees, you can move towards level 5.

One important note on this process: if the INCAPTO Aura has not yet been used, you can move directly between grind levels. However, once you have started using the grinder, the transition between levels should be made gradually. Since beans sit in the grinder burrs, forcing a sudden rotation may break one of them.
With the grind set and the hopper filled, place a cup on the tray and select one of the available options: espresso, double espresso, lungo, americano, hot water only, or custom extraction.

With the double espresso we noticed an unexpected behaviour. Rather than grinding coffee for two shots and performing a single extraction into both cups, the machine essentially performs two consecutive extractions — it grinds, brews one shot, grinds again, and brews a second shot.

The custom extraction is designed to adapt to the preferences of the main user. Simply hold the custom button during extraction to record the desired volume — whether you prefer a shorter or fuller cup. From that initial setup, the button will always replicate the configured extraction.

Once the desired option is selected, the machine grinds the beans, performs a pre-infusion, and carries out the extraction.

Extraction is carried out at 19 bar, a pressure above many similar machines on the market.

After switching on the INCAPTO Aura, the first coffee takes around 40 seconds, with subsequent ones taking slightly less.
In terms of brew quality, the INCAPTO Aura consistently produced a coffee with a good crema layer and good body. This experience is, however, always dependent on the coffee used.

For this review we tested several types of bean, and the experience varied slightly depending on the coffee used. While a good crema layer was always produced, some beans created more than others, and the consistency also differed — in some cases the result was slightly more diluted.

Since finding the best setup will depend on each user’s taste, we can only confirm that the INCAPTO Aura will do its part to deliver the best coffee quality it can.
On bean selection, it is worth noting that you should always use roasted coffee. If the label indicates the presence of torrefacto coffee, avoid using it in these machines — this process results in the caramelisation of the beans, which can damage the grinder.
Maintenance
Maintenance on the INCAPTO Aura is quick and easy.
As the grounds drawer is not very large, it needs to be emptied after every 7 to 8 coffees.

The process is simple — just pull the cup tray to reveal the handle, pull the grounds drawer out, and empty or rinse it.

The 1.5-litre water tank allows around 25 to 30 coffees, factoring in both the water used during extraction and the automatic cleaning cycle the machine performs on startup.
Unlike some other automatic machines, the INCAPTO Aura only runs a rinse cycle on startup. Some competing machines rinse both on startup and before switching off.
On the side there is also easy access to the grinder for any maintenance or cleaning that may be needed.

The machine has a dedicated maintenance indicator row, with alerts for water refilling, grounds emptying, and empty bean hopper.
The empty bean alert only appears when the hopper is completely empty, meaning the last shot will already be slightly weak.

INCAPTO coffee range
In addition to the automatic coffee machine, INCAPTO’s business also includes a wide range of coffees.
Included with the machine was a Colombian coffee that, frankly, did not appeal to most of the people who tried it, owing to its strong and distinctive flavour.

However, since coffee is deeply tied to personal taste, INCAPTO has options for a variety of preferences. In addition to single-origin beans from various regions (Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Sumatra, Rwanda, Mexico, and Burundi), there is also a decaffeinated option and blends of multiple beans for more complex and rich flavours. You can browse all available coffee options here.
Given the wide variety of coffees available, it may be useful to purchase one of the tasting kits to try several options and find your favourite before committing to a subscription.
This machine is, however, compatible with any coffee beans if you want to try other options.

Who is the INCAPTO Aura for?
The INCAPTO Aura is primarily aimed at anyone who wants quality coffee at home without needing to learn barista techniques or deal with complex equipment.
It is the natural choice for the user who values freshly ground coffee but does not want to spend time calibrating grind settings, handling brew groups, or cleaning coffee residues every morning.
For anyone with a busy morning routine who needs a quick, consistent coffee without quality variations, the Aura removes the variables from the process.
With the touch of a button, the machine grinds, extracts, and delivers the result with no further input needed. The first coffee in 40 seconds is a genuine argument for those who do not want to wait before leaving the house.

It is also a good option for couples or households where not everyone has the same level of interest in coffee. The dual spout allows two cups to be prepared simultaneously, and the ability to save a custom recipe means each person can have their preferred configuration stored without having to adjust anything each time.
For those who value kitchen aesthetics and do not want a bulky or visually obtrusive appliance on the counter, the compact design and black and white colour options make the Aura an object that integrates well into any environment without demanding attention.
Verdict on the INCAPTO Aura
The INCAPTO Aura delivers on its core promise — freshly ground coffee with the minimum of intervention possible.
For anyone who wants this experience without the learning curve of a semi-automatic machine, it is a genuinely competent proposition and an easy recommendation.

Brew quality is good, with a consistent crema layer and an extraction pressure of 19 bar that is above many similar machines. The final result depends heavily on the coffee used, which is natural for this type of machine, but the Aura does its part well regardless of the bean chosen. The 40-second heat-up time and automatic rinse on startup make the morning ritual quick and predictable.

The design is elegant and minimalist, and integrates well in any kitchen. The buttons that only illuminate when the machine is on are a detail that contributes to the clean look of the appliance.
The mismatch between the white LED at the top and the yellow light at the base is noticeable but does not affect the user experience. The tray that detaches too easily is the only build quality point that could have been better resolved.

Maintenance is quick and easy, with the grounds drawer needing attention every seven or eight coffees and the 1.5-litre tank lasting between 25 and 30 extractions. The absence of an automatic rinse at the end of the session — present on some similar machines — is a minor limitation but worth knowing about.
At €489 for the machine on its own, or from €299 with a coffee subscription, the INCAPTO Aura is an interesting proposition for anyone wanting to enter the world of specialty coffee without complications.
The subscription model is smart and allows you to discover the brand’s wide coffee range, although the Colombian bean included with the review did not appeal across the board. The recommendation is to take advantage of one of the tasting kits to find the right bean before committing to a subscription.
Techbit thanks INCAPTO for providing the machine for review.
