Segway has recently unveiled a new addition to the world of electric scooters.
The Ninebot F3 Pro E is designed to offer the greatest riding comfort, combining the stability of a wide deck with the strong acceleration it delivers.
Here is our review and verdict on this new electric scooter.

Ninebot F3 Pro E Review — A safe and stable option for tackling the city
The electric scooter has moved beyond being a niche accessory to become a serious alternative for everyday urban transport.
With the growth of cycling infrastructure in Portuguese cities and the demand for more efficient and sustainable mobility solutions, the electric scooter market has matured considerably, and Segway Ninebot remains one of the reference brands in this segment.
The Ninebot F3 Pro E is the brand’s most complete proposition for the urban rider who wants a scooter capable of handling city life without compromise.

With a maximum motor output of 1200W and a rated power of 550W, it reaches a top speed of 25 km/h and can achieve a range of up to 70 km in Eco mode.
Featuring hydraulic front suspension and elastomer rear suspension, 10-inch self-sealing tubeless tyres, and Segway’s own SegRide stability system, it sits clearly above entry-level scooters in both performance and comfort.
A 2.4-inch TFT display with integrated navigation, proximity Bluetooth unlocking via Segway AirLock, Apple Find My compatibility, and a BMS 2.0 battery management system with IPX7 protection complete a technically mature proposition for anyone who wants more than simply getting from point A to point B.
As for the price, the Segway Ninebot F3 Pro E is available for €551.
Design and build quality
The Ninebot F3 Pro E is a robust scooter that looks ready to take on the challenges of urban environments.
In terms of construction, the aluminium frame throughout combines with IPX6 certification to ensure great durability and resistance in outdoor environments.

The handlebar has an arched shape that centres on the rider, with the display positioned in the middle as the hub for all information.

On the left side there is an area with several centralised controls, where you can activate the turn signals, change the riding mode, or switch the lights and the scooter itself on and off.
Also attached are the mechanical bell, a turn signal, and a brake lever.

On the right side we have the throttle, a turn signal, and another brake lever.

At the rear of the handlebar there is an ambient LED light that remains always on, and an additional 6W light for night-time illumination.
A little below the middle of the stem there is a small lever to fold the scooter, and near the base a protruding area designed to make it easier to hook the kickstand when parking.

At the base there is a wide deck where you can comfortably place your feet with good stability, and where the charging connector for the battery is located. This battery is positioned in the deck itself, sitting beneath the rider’s feet, which helps add weight and stability.

At the rear there is a brake/night presence light and the slot for the handlebar when the scooter is folded.

Each wheel features a 10-inch tubeless tyre, and disc brakes are fitted on both wheels.

In terms of weight, the Ninebot F3 Pro E weighs 19 kg, which makes it portable when folded, though some physical effort is needed to carry it.
Accompanying the scooter was a Ninebot helmet designed for use with scooters. Although it is not legally required in Portugal, it is recommended to prevent more serious injuries in the event of an accident.

First use
When you take the Ninebot F3 Pro E out of the box, it comes almost fully assembled — you only need to tighten 4 screws.

Simply place the scooter on the ground, fit the handlebar onto the stem, and tighten 2 screws at the front and 2 at the rear to secure it.

After that, you need to turn it on and connect to the app to remove the safety mode applied to the battery during transport.
Segway-Ninebot app and Apple Find My
The Segway-Ninebot app connects via Bluetooth to the scooter and handles all control.
Here you can monitor the battery level, the selected riding mode, and the route, with the option to save that record for later review.
The app also enables Segway AirLock, a technology that unlocks the scooter automatically when you approach it — a smart, entirely wireless operation.
It can also connect to your smartphone to display navigation instructions or incoming call alerts on the screen.
Finally, it allows connection to Apple Find My to help locate the scooter in the event of loss or theft. Unfortunately, there is no compatibility with the Android location system.
Display
The Ninebot F3 Pro E features a display that is now larger and more useful than previous Segway models.
In addition to showing the battery level and riding mode, it can now relay other relevant information.
Beyond kilometres ridden and remaining range, navigation data can be loaded so the display shows turn-by-turn directions for the route ahead.
If someone calls, that information also appears on screen so no contact goes unnoticed.
This 2.4-inch TFT display has good visibility in direct sunlight, making it the information centre for your journey.

Riding experience and lighting
The Ninebot F3 Pro E offers a good riding experience.
Paired with a wide deck that lets you position your feet comfortably and securely, it features a dual suspension system that absorbs road irregularities well and makes for safer, more controlled riding.

The arched handlebar also keeps all information centred on the rider, making it easy to activate turn signals, change the riding mode, or switch the lights.
Two brake levers allow the front and rear brakes to be operated independently, making braking more responsive and easier to control.

Acceleration is very responsive. In Sport mode, pressing the throttle fully delivers a strong surge of power that makes the Ninebot F3 Pro E agile and reactive.

In terms of lighting, there is now an automatic lighting mode that turns the lights on and off according to ambient light conditions, removing the need for the rider to do it manually.

The 6W LED illuminates several metres ahead, providing good visibility in night-time or low-light conditions.

As we have noted with other models, the fact that the turn signals are only on the grips means they can easily be obscured by the body or hands, reducing visibility for riders behind.

Storage and folding
As is standard with this type of product, the Ninebot F3 Pro E can be folded to make transport easier.
The process is quite simple — just pull the lever on the steering column and fold it towards the rear of the scooter, where the handlebar locks into a small slot on the deck.

Once locked, the stem can be used as a carry handle. Although the 19 kg and folded dimensions of 1152 × 590 × 613 mm are not the most compact, you can transport it wherever you need — on foot, by train, or by car, though that last option will depend on the boot space available.

Battery life, regeneration, and charging
Although the brand advertises a maximum range of 70 kilometres, reaching that figure requires a degree of care.
You need to ride in Eco mode to smooth out sudden acceleration, make the most of regenerative braking, and keep to a lower speed — which limits you to 20 km/h.

If the aim is more relaxed riding in Standard or Sport mode — getting the most out of what this scooter is built for — a realistic range is up to 50 kilometres.
Even so, that is a very respectable figure and is enough for a good journey, whether for leisure or commuting.

The main issue lies in the charging process, which takes around 8 hours — a considerable amount of time. For example, anyone who uses the full battery on the way to work will need the entire working day for the scooter to charge. For a product of this class, faster charging would be expected.

Who is the Segway Ninebot F3 Pro E for?
The Ninebot F3 Pro E is primarily aimed at anyone who uses an electric scooter as a regular means of urban transport, not just occasionally.
It is a proposition for the rider who covers considerable distances every day between home, work, or public transport, and who needs equipment that can keep up with that pace without issues, without frequent maintenance, and with enough comfort to arrive at the destination without feeling drained.
The hydraulic front suspension and elastomer rear suspension make it a natural choice for anyone living in cities with uneven surfaces, cobblestone streets, or routes with many obstacles. Where other scooters transmit every road irregularity, the F3 Pro E absorbs them, making long-distance riding significantly more pleasant.

For those with demanding inclines on their route, the 1200W motor and ability to handle gradients of up to 24% make it suitable even for cities with some elevation.
The 70 km range in Eco mode is more than enough for the vast majority of daily needs, with the option to add a separately sold optional battery for those who need even greater range.
It is also a strong choice for anyone who places safety above everything else. Disc brakes on both wheels, TCS traction control, an automatic 6W headlight with double the range of the previous generation, and integrated turn signals make the F3 Pro E a scooter designed to ride safely even in adverse conditions such as rain or low light.

For those who simply want an affordable scooter for short, occasional trips, the F3 Pro E may be an excessive investment. Segway offers more accessible options in its own catalogue for that profile. The F3 Pro E makes most sense for anyone who will use it daily and wants a reliable, comfortable, and fully featured urban transport tool.
Verdict on the Segway Ninebot F3 Pro E
The Ninebot F3 Pro E is one of Segway’s most complete propositions for the urban rider and delivers in practice on most of what it promises in the specifications.
The wide deck, dual suspension system, and disc brakes on both wheels form a combination that conveys a sense of safety and stability clearly superior to entry-level scooters — something that is especially noticeable on longer journeys or uneven surfaces.

Acceleration in Sport mode is genuinely responsive and surprises those not used to scooters of this calibre, with an immediate surge that makes riding agile and reactive.
The arched handlebar keeps all information and controls well centred, and the automatic lighting is a detail that may seem minor but genuinely improves the riding experience, especially on the ride home at the end of the day.
The 2.4-inch TFT display with integrated navigation and call alerts is a qualitative step up from previous Segway models, with good visibility even in direct sunlight.
Apple Find My integration is welcome, though the lack of compatibility with Android’s location system is a limitation that could have been a useful bonus.

The points worth considering before buying are the real-world range and charging time. In Sport or Standard mode, 50 kilometres is a more realistic figure, which is sufficient for most daily needs. The roughly 8-hour charging time is this scooter’s weakest point — anyone who depletes the battery on a working day will need the entire night to recharge. For a product in this class, faster charging would be expected.
The 19 kg weight and the fact that the turn signals are easily obscured by the hands or body are also points to consider, particularly for anyone riding in heavy traffic where signalling is critical for safety.
At €551, the Ninebot F3 Pro E is a scooter that justifies its price for anyone who will use it daily and values comfort, stability, and smart features.
