We have lost count of the number of times we have been asked whether it is worth spending over €1,400 on a Pixel instead of waiting for the next iPhone or a flagship Galaxy.
It is a fair question — especially when the price in Portugal sits above the rest of Europe — so we decided to put together a straight answer for anyone who does not have time to read the full review.
We tested the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL for several weeks before publishing our full review, where we gave it 9.3 out of 10.
This article takes all that work and distils what really matters when deciding whether to spend the money — the pros, the cons, and who this smartphone actually makes sense for.

The cameras are still the main reason to buy
If there is one reason to choose a Pixel over the competition, it is still the camera — and this year Google did not hold back.
Colours come out more vibrant and natural than on the previous model, photo processing is visibly faster, and white balance handling in bright light has improved significantly.
The three rear cameras — a 50MP wide, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom — now deliver far more consistent results across the board, even at night.

Battery life is no longer a weak point
The 5,115mAh battery finally brings the autonomy the Pixel has needed for several years.
On a normal day of use, between 40% and 50% typically remains at the end of the day — and even on heavier days the battery usually holds above 20%.
The 45W fast charging gets the phone to 75% in around 30 minutes, and those who prefer wireless charging have 25W available via Pixelsnap.

What made us hesitate
Not everything is good news. The €1,429 price tag sits above what is charged elsewhere in Europe, which weighs heavily on a purchase of this size.
Then there is HiLight — the RGB LED in the camera module that was announced as a major new feature, but for now only serves to notify you of calls and Gemini interactions when the screen is face down.
It is more of a promise for the future than a reason to buy today.
Who it is really worth it for
This Pixel makes sense for anyone who wants the best possible camera on an Android, values flagship-level performance, and does not mind paying for it — and also for those planning to keep their phone for several years, since Google guarantees updates until 2033.
Those who are more price-conscious, or hoping for a more radical design change, may prefer to look elsewhere or wait for the next generation.
Is it worth it or not?
Yes, it is worth it. In the full review we gave top marks to design and cameras, 9.5 to battery life and charging, and 9 to performance — with price being the only area where it fell short of ideal.
If photography and longevity are priorities, the Pixel 11 Pro XL delivers — and delivers well. You can read the full review with all the testing details.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL can be purchased for €1,429.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL good for gaming?
Yes, the Tensor G6 handles the most demanding games on the Play Store well, although it is not the fastest processor on the market in that regard.
How long does the Pixel 11 Pro XL battery last?
On a normal day of use, between 40% and 50% of battery typically remains at the end of the day, thanks to the 5,115mAh capacity.
Is HiLight enough of a reason to justify the Pixel 11 Pro XL’s price?
Not on its own. Current functionality is limited and Google has promised to expand it through future updates.
